EAST began as a mission church in 1945
and continues to carry that missional vision into the 21st century.
ONE WORLD, ONE MISSION
One World, One Mission (OWOM) is EAST's Mission Strategy. In fulfilling our commitment to missions we follow the instruction of Jesus Christ as he addressed the disciples shortly before his ascension, in Acts 1:8. “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come on you, and you will be My witnesses in Jerusalem, in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.” (HCSB) Our fourfold goal is to support mission work in our community, our state, our nation and our world.
We here at East believe missions to be a lifestyle rather than a destination, simply put; as we are going we are to be sharing our faith. Some will be going here in our community (our Jerusalem) others will be going in Louisiana (our Judea), others will be going somewhere in the USA (our Samaria) and many will be going beyond the borders (to the ends of the earth).
OWOM is the means we have chosen to financially support and send individuals and mission teams. It is also a method whereby we can come alongside missionaries already on the field to support and assist them in their work.
